About me
Tessa Haanstra
I was first introduced to chiropractic when I was about seven years old. I remember being fascinated by how a simple adjustment could make such a noticeable difference. From that moment on, I knew this was what I wanted to do.
At nineteen, I moved to England to study at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (AECC), where I completed my Master’s degree in 2011. During those years, my understanding of the body changed. I learned that chiropractic is not only about relieving pain, but also about helping the body function well.
After working in another practice, I opened Chiropractie De Pijp in 2016. I wanted to create a place that feels calm and personal - where there is time and attention for each person.
My belief in chiropractic is also personal. Through years of horse riding, including a few accidents, I experienced back pain, neck pain and headaches myself. Regular care made a clear difference . Not just in reducing discomfort, but in how my body moved and felt.
Over the past 15 years, working with many people has only strengthened that belief. Many of the people I see have been dealing with complaints for a long time and are often surprised by what is still possible. I often see that when the body gets the right conditions, it can recover and function in a way that feels very different from before.
Today, I work as a chiropractor in Amsterdam, helping people with long-standing back pain, neck pain and headaches. My focus is on helping people move better, feel better, and trust their body again - in a way that fits their life and their pace.
